IMPORTANT DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

FLU CLINIC 2014

Our annual flu clinic will be held in Tintern Village Hall on Friday 24 October 2014, from 11am until 6.30pm. Please make every effort to attend this clinic.  No appointment is necessary, just come along.  Parking is available in Tintern Village Hall car park.    

Flu vaccination is available to any of our registered patients free of charge.  Vaccination is advised if you are over 65 or if you suffer from any of the following medical conditions:  Diabetes, Heart Disease, Lung Disease (including Asthma), Kidney Disease, or if you are immunosuppressed, a carer, are pregnant, or work with poultry.

As in previous years ther will be a roadshow with various stalls offering very useful information.  Tea, coffee and biscuits will also be available.

This year children aged 2, 3, or 4 on 31 August 2014 will be invited for a nasal flu vaccination.   This will be via an appointment with the practice nurse at the surgery.

Shingles vaccination is availableto patients aged 70, 78, or 79 on 1 September 2014.  The practice nurses will be able to provide you with information about this. 

If you are unsure if you should have a flu jab please seek advice from the surgery.

BABY CLINIC

 Baby clinic, held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, is now by appointment.  Immunisations will be by appointment between 1.30pm and 3.00pm.  Patients wishing to have babies weighed or requiring advice are asked to come between 3.00pm and 3.30pm.  Hopefully this arrangement will reduce the waiting times to see the health visitor.

 CLOSURE OF MINOR INJURY UNITS AT CHEPSTOW AND MONMOUTH

From 28 November 2011 these facilities will no longer be available.  If you or a member of your family suffers a minor injury, for instance:  an injury to the hands, neck or face, a wound that might need stitching, a suspected broken bone or any injury where there has been an altered state of consciousness, go to your nearest Minor Injury Service:

IMPORTANT NOTICE CONCERNING FRIDAY OPENING HOURS

 From November 2011 Friday opening hours will be altered.  The doors will remain open between  1pm and 2pm, and the surgery will close at 6.00pm as before.

If you have an injury that has happened in the last 48 hours we advise that you attend a casualty unit.
